The new TRAI guidelines emphasize the segregation of commercial and promotional calling to minimize unsolicited calling and fraudulent activities. TRAI's new directives state that every business must obtain a digital consent for commercial messaging. All telemarketers must register themselves on the DLT platform to practise solicited calling. Businesses that are found collaborating with non-licensed operators will be penalized, and be barred from any form of communication.
